PROCESS TECHNOLOGY

HX Series Spiral
L Shaped Heater
PROCESS TECHNOLOGY TF Series Fluoropolymer (Teflon) Immersion Heaters
For all constant temperature baths, all chemicals (even HF)* temperature range to 180°C.

OUTSTANDING FEATURES
  •  All Fluoropolymer Construction. Contamination-free processing and excellent chemical resistance with all solutions, including KOH
and HF.  Can be operated to 180°C (not to be used with flammable liquids).
  • Fast Ramp Up, Temperature Recovery and Uniform Heating. The heaters are in direct contact with the process solution.  This results in
faster heat-up and recovery rate of 1.5°C to 10°C per minute and provides uniform (+/- 0.5°C) heating.
  •  Reliable: Heaters exhibit extra long process life and are guaranteed to be "pin hole" free.  Purge system ensures integrity.
  • Models to Fit All Baths, Minimal Space Required.  A wide range of standard sizes are available, as are custom designs and
configurations.  Single layer fluoropolymer bottom heaters are less than 1" thick.
  •  Easy Installation and Conversion, Minimal Downtime.  There are no conversion costs.  Simply place the heater in the bath and wire it
to the existing temperature controller.  When replacement is necessary it can be done more quickly, less expensively and on-site.
  •  Safety. Every fluoropolymer bottom heater incorporates and over-temperature J-type thermocouple, an optional purge system to monitor
sheath integrity, thermal cutoff device for maximum safety, and liquid level sensor.

UNIQUE HEATER FEATURE
  • The introduction of a small purge of nitrogen through the heating elements ensures maximum life expectancy.  Permeation is a well
documented occurrence with fluoroplastics; the rate of which is dependent upon variables such as variation in the molecular makeup
of the polymer, void content, material thickness, temperature and pressure.  If the permeation is not continuously removed from the
heating element, premature element failure will occur.

HEATER DESIGN
  • The TFB and TFW fluoropolymer Immersion Heaters are manufactured utilizing a patented process that results in an extremely durable
    heater.  U.S. Pat. Nos. 4,553,024 - 4,158,764.
  • SLEEVED HEATING ELEMENT - the TFB/TFW heating element coil is surrounded by a braid.  This ensures that the separation in the
heating element coil is not affected during manufacturing which could compromise watt density uniformity.
  • The heating element/braid assembly is then pulled through pre-extruded TFE fluoropolymer tubing and configured to the specified
heater/bath dimensions.  The finished heater coil measures 5/16" in diameter and is rated at 10 watts per square inch.  A fluoropolymer
guard covers the top and sides of the TFB series heater and provides a flat, horizontal surface for placing wafer cassettes or other
    product.
  • Safety features include a J-type over-temperature thermocouple, optional thermal cutoff switch, back pressure box and liquid level
    sensors.
